Our Story

The Beginning:
Founded to tackle the growing stray dog population in Punjab, Barking for a Better Punjab began as a grassroots initiative. What started as small rescue efforts has grown into a full-scale mission, encompassing sterilization, vaccination, adoption, and education programs.

Our Challenges:
Punjab faces over 550 dog bite cases per day, with an estimated stray dog population exceeding 1.5 million. Rabies remains a significant public health threat, claiming thousands of lives annually in India. We address these issues through targeted, compassionate interventions.

Why We Matter

At Barking for a Better Punjab, India we go beyond rescue efforts. We address the root causes of stray dog challenges, promoting long-term solutions that benefit both animals and humans. By fostering compassion and collaboration, we aim to build a brighter future for everyone in Punjab.

How We Work

Our integrated approach includes:

Sterilization Programs:
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) to manage stray dog populations.

Vaccination Drives:
Preventing rabies and other diseases.
Adoption Initiatives:
Finding loving homes for rescued dogs.

Community Engagement: Educating the public about responsible pet ownership.
